NUTWOOD RAMS

 Woolpit Gus

Seen here working with the ewes as a shearling in August 2000 and below just after shearing in 2001, Gus was bought as a lamb, at the Jacob Society National Show & Sale in August 1999.
His breeding, on both sides, is from the former Hackwood flock, his sire being 2405J1100 Hackwood James and his dam 2405J925.

Gus has developed into a first rate tup with good conformation, excellent size and strong bone. His progeny from his first year did well in the show ring in 2000 (see Augusta in the show section). He has an excellent temperament and is very easy to handle.

 2008

For tupping in 2008, in addition to Gus we also used home bred rams: Nutwood Saladin, Nutwood Gryphon and Nutwood Firebird. We also used Bentley Cobbie who we bought in 2005 as a ram lamb at the National Show & Sale. We were also luckjy enaough to send four ewes to Jerry Strong to run with his homebred ram Elmley Dakota, the 2008 Royal Show Champion.

We also used a ram lamb, Nutwood Raven, but he only covered two ewes before being sold.
